2023 Daktronics Bearing New Employee Development



On April 22-23, a group of new employees from Daktronics Bearing came to Fenghua Shanggang for a two-day outreach training.
The training aims to effectively expand the potential of new employees through training, make the team more cohesive and centripetal force, sharpen the perseverance of the team and individuals to overcome difficulties, enhance the teamwork ability and strengthen the sense of responsibility, honor and belonging of new employees.

Icebreaker, get to know you and me



Firstly, through an ice-breaking session, new employees were allowed to remember each other's names to establish a basis of mutual trust and quickly elected a captain, team name, slogan and team POSE. In this process, team members not only cooperated in the division of labour and clever ideas, but also promoted emotions in communication, breaking down barriers and forming a team.

DAY 1 Training session

01 Trusted back drop



Trust is the soul of a team, and the trust backdrop requires new staff to overcome their fears, transcend themselves and believe that the team can protect them. When the challenger stood on the high platform, he gained strength from the encouragement of his buddies; other team members formed a protective barrier under the platform to assist the challenger to complete the task. This "fall" fully cultivated team cohesion and trust, and laid a good emotional foundation in the actual work.

02 Aerial bar



Each daredevil has to independently climb a 9-metre high platform and stand on a disc with a diameter of only 25 centimetres. They have to control their inner fears and overcome their inner obstacles, and then leap out of the disc to grab the bar in the air. A climb, a stand, a leap, a seemingly uncomplicated set of movements, is in fact a process of transcending oneself. In work and life, when faced with difficulties and challenges, one has to be brave enough to overcome them.

03 The Da Vinci Code



A total of 20 wooden tiles, placed face down at random, were arranged in an orderly fashion through the precise memory of each team member, along with a strong sense of cohesion. But in this game, it was all about efficient collaboration, and the team that finished first was the final winner. Everyone was fully engaged, working together, trying to find the right way; daring to challenge and develop strategies for continuous improvement.

04 Market Madness

Everyone runs their own company in a virtual environment to maximise profits! Each team works to form a new company team, simulating the entire process of running and managing a business. This game requires a clear division of labour and brainstorming among the team so that their own companies can take their place in the market.

DAY 2 Training session

01 The Five Minute Challenge



As a new day of development was about to begin, we ushered in the first challenge project - the Challenge Five Minutes. The five-minute challenge requires team members to work together and complete four games in five minutes to successfully pass the challenge, which profoundly illustrates the importance of efficient communication and resolute execution in team projects. In the face of setbacks and blows, the team needs collaboration and encouragement, not complaints or accusations!
02 Extreme 60 seconds



"60 Seconds Fast" is an experiential mental game that allows team members to experience the importance of breaking the rules and thinking outside the box! A team needs to collaborate and fight, but also needs to reform and innovate. At work, innovative thinking can make one's work efficiency better and faster, creating more room for value for the company and oneself.
03 Letter from Pandora's Box



"Pandora's Box of Letters" is the last project of this outdoor development, which is composed of four mini-games: Number Castle, Blind Man's Touch, Writing the Future and Stealing the Sky Trap. In "Writing the Future", each team member had to pull the end of a string and write the words "Shang, Qiu and Gang" without touching the brush. This project required each team member to stay focused at all times, as if they were distracted the brush would immediately fall off and the characters would not take shape.

Through the completion of one item of training, the new staff deeply experienced the importance of cooperation, division of labour and trust. In the pleasant training atmosphere, everyone was united and clearly divided, surpassing themselves in the continuous fumbling, never giving up and always believing that either they start from scratch or all of them pass. At the end of the training, a group photo was taken as a souvenir.
Life is a collection of experiences, the journey of expansion, may you be bittersweet, all for the harvest.
