General requirements for cage material
1, with low hardness and high wear resistance, although the hardness of the material wear resistance are higher, but such as the use of high hardness materials for cage, will wear the rolling body, to rotate the performance of the adverse effects, and even produce "holding phenomenon".
2, because the cage withstand repeated tensile and compressive stress, so require a high fatigue strength; have the necessary elasticity and toughness; resistance to centrifugal force.
3, keep frame light weight, the use of small density materials, in order to make the bearing friction loss is small, and can ease the impact of rolling body in and out of the load area.
4, plastic processing and cutting performance is good; have enough rigidity and flexibility.
5、The friction coefficient between the collar and the rolling body is small.
6、Chemically stable, not easy to rust.



Additional requirements for cage materials
1. Wettability of the surface, i.e. the ability to attach or store lubricants;
2、Good thermal conductivity, fast heat dissipation; high heat capacity, heat resistance;
3, has a certain vibration absorption capacity, not easy to resonate with other parts;
4, not easy to produce noise.
Special requirements for cage materials
1, in must have corrosion resistance occasions, because the cage does not need a particularly high hardness, so can use austenitic stainless steel, and 0Cr18Ni9 steel is used most;
2, in high temperature occasions, also use austenitic stainless steel with sufficient high temperature strength;
3, when the special need to improve the strength of the cage, can use low carbon steel plate for carbonitriding surface treatment;
4, in the need for self-lubrication conditions, can use graphite steel cage, or can store oil porous material manufacturing cage;
5、When working in a magnetic field, it is sometimes required that the material does not interfere with the external magnetic field, nor is it affected by the external magnetic field.
